Chassis, connectivity, screen of the HP 15-dw2036nf
With its natural silver frame, painted cover and base, molded finish keyboard frame with vertical brushed pattern (dixit HP), this Ultrabook that can be recharged to about 50% in 45 minutes has a sober and elegant look.
Thin and light, this laptop has good connectivity including 1 USB 3.1 Type-C, Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.2 modules for wireless remote connections and communications, Ethernet and audio ports, convenient HDMI video output to easily connect it to a TV or a monitor, for example, but also 2 USB 3.0 (both compatible with USB 2.0) guaranteeing transfers taking place up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 devices are connected above.
The screen will be of interest to lovers of High Definition content such as videos because it adopts a Full HD definition more precise than the 1366×768 standard and a 16: 9 format that lends itself well to video playback. It is also more readable in a bright environment (eg outdoors) than a shiny panel thanks to its anti-reflective treatment.
Performance, battery life of the HP 15-dw2036nf
The HP 15-dw2036nf is a responsive, compact 15-inch High Definition laptop designed for everyday use.
In this area as in Internet surfing and office automation as well as in not too extensive multitasking, it delivers good services. This Ultrabook incorporates an Ice Lake Core i3-1005G1 low-consumption Turbo processor coupled with a standard amount of RAM of 4 GB.
In practice, it should be remembered that a Core i3 Turbo is significantly more efficient than a non-Turbo Core i3 (Core i3-7xxxU and predecessors). Like all Intel Core i3s and AMD Ryzen 3s (and lower processors), the Core i3-1005G1 Turbo shows its limits under processor-intensive software.
The Core i3 Turbo Ice Lake houses the Intel UHD 620 graphics solution within it. Modest, it still allows of course to watch photos and videos. As it does not come with a dedicated graphics card, logically considering the positioning of this PC, this thin and light laptop is not designed for demanding graphics work like gaming.
This Ultrabook has an undeniable asset when it comes to storage, as it offers a total of 1.1TB much higher than the average. We are dealing here with a hybrid solution combining a 128 GB SSD designed to accommodate the system as well as the main software, with a hard disk with a large capacity of 1000 GB able to accommodate multiple files and software as a bonus.
Concretely on a daily basis, the SSD guarantees much better fluidity and responsiveness on a daily basis than a simple hard drive. Thanks to the SSD, for example, we benefit from much faster application launches and starts / stops.
As for autonomy, expect about 5 hours of battery operation in light use for this Ultrabook whose transport is facilitated by the weight contained and finesse.
