Thin and light, the new HP 15s-fq1011nf Ultrabook in silver / black design designed for everyday use has a 15 inch Full HD anti-reflective screen. It relies on a good amount of RAM coupled to an Ice Lake Core i3-1005G1 processor as well as a fast SSD storage of 256 GB which reinforces its reactivity. It also has a USB 3.1 Type-C connection and works under Windows 10 S.

The HP 15s-fq1025nf facing the competition
The HP 15s-fq1025nf is currently offered by Boulanger and is positioned as one of the lightest in its class .
Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP 15s-fq1025nf
Its natural Silver chassis painted cover and base, molded finish keyboard frame with brushed vertical pattern (dixit HP) gives it a sober, elegant and original design. It can be recharged to around 50% in 45 minutes.
It works under Windows 10 mode S which wants to focus on security by only authorizing the installation of applications from the Windows Store.
If desired, we can however exit S mode to get Windows 10 classic.
The integrated connection to this Ultrabook is good, including 1 USB 3.1 Type-C, Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.2 modules for wireless remote connections and communications, a useful HDMI video output if you plan to connect it to a TV or a monitor for example, Ethernet and audio ports as well as 2 USB 3.0 (compatible with both USB 2.0) guaranteeing transfers taking place up to 10 times faster than with USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 devices are plugged into it.
The screen adopts a precise Full HD definition superior to the 1366×768 standard and ideal for displaying High Definition content. Due to its 16: 9 format, the screen is also suitable for videos, while its anti-reflective treatment makes it more readable than a bright panel in a bright environment (ex: outdoor).
Performance, autonomy of the HP 15s-fq1025nf
The HP 15s-fq1025nf is a compact 15-inch laptop for everyday use.
In this area as in office automation and surfing on the Internet, it delivers good benefits because it is structured around a good amount of RAM of 8 GB above the average and very useful in multitasking as well as a Core i3 processor 1005G1 Turbo low consumption Ice Lake.
As a reminder, a Core i3 Turbo is significantly more efficient than a non-Turbo Core i3 (Core i3-7xxxU and predecessors). However, you have to be aware of the fact that a Core i3 shows its limits under software that consumes processor resources.
Logically with regard to positioning, this Ultrabook is not equipped with a dedicated graphics card. It is therefore not designed for heavy graphics work such as games. Here, all the graphics are managed by the Intel UHD 620 part integrated into the Core i3. Modest, the Intel UHD 620 still allows obviously to view photos and videos.
On the storage side, HP chooses an SSD. It has the advantage of being silent but also more energy efficient than a hard drive, more resistant to shocks and above all much faster.
Result thanks to the SSD, this thin and light PC is significantly more reactive and fluid on a daily basis than if it were based on a hard disk. This benefits, for example, from much faster application launches and starts / stops.
The SSD offers sufficient capacity for a number of uses. However, 256 GB remains below the standard for hard drives and some may need additional space. But in this case, we can always rely on an external storage unit such as a USB 3.0 device to obtain fast transfers.
As for autonomy, bet on about 6 hours of battery operation in light use for this Ultrabook whose transport is facilitated by the controlled weight and finesse.
