Chassis, connectors, screen of the Asus Vivobook S712DA-BX392T
With its light silver Transparent Silver frame, the ErgoLift hinge of which raises it slightly forward when opened, it has a sober and elegant design.
This relatively thin and light laptop for a 17 inch is equipped with a good connection composed of 1 USB 3.1 Type-C, a practical HDMI video output to easily connect it to a TV or a monitor for example, modules wireless Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.1 for remote connections and communications, one audio port as well as 3 USBs all compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 guaranteeing transfers up to ‘at 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if you plug in a USB 3.0 device.
The screen is distinguished by its anti-reflective treatment, making it less tiring for the eyes over a long period of time than a shiny panel and more readable in bright surroundings (eg outdoors). For the rest, it adopts classic characteristics with its definition of 1600×900 and its 16: 9 format lending itself well to video playback.
Performance, battery life of Asus Vivobook S712DA-BX392T
The Asus Vivobook S712DA-BX392T is a relatively thin and light 17-inch laptop designed for everyday use.
It stands out for its hybrid storage offering a high total capacity of 1.1 TB above average. It consists of a 128 GB SSD designed to accommodate the system as well as the main software, and a hard drive with a large capacity of 1000 GB to accommodate the rest.
In practice, the SSD guarantees much better fluidity and responsiveness than a daily hard drive. Thanks to the SSD, for example, we benefit from much faster application launches and starts / stops.
The SSD therefore accompanies the heart of this computer very well, delivering good performance in everyday use, such as office automation and surfing the Internet. There is indeed on board a good amount of RAM 8 GB above average and very useful in multitasking. It is associated with an AMD APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) Ryzen 3 3200U low-power Picasso processor. However, the latter shows its limits under software requiring processor resources.

The Ryzen 3 Picasso integrates within it a Radeon Vega 3 graphics part, but is not supported by a dedicated graphics card. Therefore, this PC is not designed for heavy graphics work like gaming. However, of course it allows viewing photos and videos.
As for the autonomy of this computer whose finesse and weight are contained for a 17-inch, particularly comfortable format for mainly sedentary use (eg at home), expect about 4 hours of battery operation in light use.
