The Dell G16 is a new versatile gaming laptop with a 16-inch screen up to 2.5K 165Hz equipped with a hybrid Intel Alder Lake-H processor paired with an NVIDIA Ampere graphics card up to the high-end GeForce RTX 3070 Ti.
Priced at $1399, the Dell G16 is a new gaming laptop that is based on an Intel Alder Lake processor and more specifically Alder Lake-H either Core i5-12500H (12 cores, 2.5 GHz, 4P 8E) or Core i7-12700H (14 cores, 2.3 GHz, 6P 8E), both offering an iris Xe integrated graphics solution.
The Alder Lake-H is paired with 4800MHz DDR5 RAM with a maximum capacity of 32GB as well as 512GB to 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD storage.
A dedicated NVIDIA Ampere ray tracing graphics card is also embedded, this laptop being supplied basic with a GeForce RTX 3050 Ti 4 GB GDDR6 (90W) associated with a 3-cell battery 56Whr.Optionally
there are more performance editions GeForce RTX 3060 6 GB GDDR6 and GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8 GB GDDR6 (140W), with 86Whr battery.
The new Dell G16 also offers Wi-Fi 6 ax (2×2), Bluetooth 5.0, HDMI 2.1, headphone/mic audio combo, Gigabit Ethernet, 3 USB 3.2 and 1 USB 3.2 Type-C (GeForce RTX 3050 Ti) or 1 USB-C Thunderbolt 4 (GeForce RTX 3060 and GeForce RTX 3070 Ti).
This gaming laptop is equipped with a backlit RGB chiclet keyboard (1 zone) without a numeric keypad which some will not fail to deplore for the entry of numbers while this feature is standard from 15 inches.
In any case a mechanical keyboard with CherryMX switch is mentioned as an option.
The display, topped by a 720p HD webcam with microphone, is here entrusted to a 16-inch 16/10th anti-glare screen expected in several options and in particular in 165Hz 2.5K (2560×1600) G-Sync 300cd / m².
FYI, Dell also recently launched its high-end Alienware m17 R5 with 17-inch 480Hz display.
