HP is updating its flagship gaming laptop HP Omen 15 in the 2020 edition, built around an Intel Comet Lake-H processor or – and this is a first – AMD Renoir Octo Core. Also on the program for this computer is an NVIDIA Turing graphics card, a 300Hz or 4K OLED screen, SSD storage or even Wi-Fi ax and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity.
The HP Omen 15 2020 is a new laptop targeting gamers with a more comfortable budget than those targeted by the HP Pavilion Gaming 16 .
It is available in Intel version and, for the first time, in AMD edition .
The latter is built around an AMD Renoir Hexa Core Ryzen 5 4600H (3.0 GHz, Vega 6) or Octo Core Ryzen 7 4800H (2.9 GHz, Vega 7) processor.
The Renoir is supported by 8/16 GB DDR4 3200MHz of RAM as well as M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD storage of 256/512 GB or 1 TB.
In terms of graphics processing, there are dedicated card options NVIDIA Turing GeForce GTX 1650 Ti 4 Go GDDR6, GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6 Go GDDR6 or GeForce RTX 2060 6 Go GDDR6.
The display is entrusted to a 15.6 inch anti-reflective IPS Full HD screen (1920×1080) with 144Hz, 250cd / m² or 300cd / m² options.
The HP Omen 15 2020 AMD also has an HD webcam with microphone, 2 Bang & Olufsen speakers and a backlit chiclet keyboard (1.5mm stroke) 1 zone or 4 zones or RGB per button but … without keypad digital which will disappoint some.
On the connection side, there is talk of an SD card reader, Wi-Fi ax wireless modules (2×2, Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200) and Bluetooth 5.0, HDMI 2.0a video output and mini-DisplayPort, ports Gigabit Ethernet and Headphone / Mic combo audio, 3 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 3.1 Type-C .
Equipped with a 70.9Whr battery, the HP Omen 15 2020 AMD weighs 2.46 Kg and measures 357.8 x 239.7 x 22.6mm . It is adorned at the level of the shell of the brand\’s new Omen diamond logo.
The HP Omen 15 2020 Intel version is distinguished by its Comet Lake-H processor, Quad Core i5-10300H (2.5 GHz) or Hexa Core i7-10750H (2.6 GHz) with integrated graphics part Intel UHD 630.
Its RAM can climb up to 32 GB DDR4 2933MHz while connection side, it has the option Wi-Fi ax (2×2, Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201), USB 3.1 Type-C (Gen2) also Thunderbolt 3 office .
In addition, the HP Omen 15 2020 Intel has additional screen options: IPS Full HD 120Hz or 300Hz in addition to 144Hz , a brightness of 300cd / m² or 400cd / m² or an Ultra HD AMOLED 4K panel (3840×2160 ).
