Chassis, connectors, HP Omen screen 15-dh0030nf
Its brushed black sandblasted sandblasted design with its angular lines gives it a resolutely gamer look. It also benefits from a long battery that can be recharged to 50% in 45 minutes.
This computer gamer benefits from good connectivity including 1 USB 3.1 Type-C Thunderbolt 3, Bluetooth 5.0 wireless modules and Wi-Fi ac to communicate and connect remotely, HDMI video outputs and mini-DisplayPort practices for the connect easily to a TV or monitor for example, Ethernet and audio ports or 3 USB 3.0 (compatible USB 2.0) ensuring transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if connected USB 3.0 devices.
Of course, the chiclet keyboard can be backlit which is very convenient to discern its keys in the dim light.
The screen will seduce the players with its refresh rate of 144Hz which enhances the fluidity in games compared to the standard 60Hz. IPS, the display reproduces colors more accurately than average and provides important vertical and horizontal viewing angles. With its precise Full HD definition and its 16: 9 format, the screen lends itself well to the display of High Definition content including videos. As it is anti-reflective treatment, the screen also provides better visibility in bright environment (eg outside) a glossy slab.
Performance, autonomy of the HP Omen 15-dh0030nf
The HP Omen 15-dh0030nf can appeal to those who have a comfortable budget and wish to acquire a versatile 15-inch notebook PC powerful, especially in games.
The most recent graphics-intensive games can run at a good level of detail on this notebook as it takes advantage of the dedicated NVIDIA Turing GeForce RTX 2080 high-end card with ray tracing.
In practice, the GeForce RTX 2080 is activated / deactivated automatically and in real time by embedded NVIDIA Optimus technology, depending on the tasks performed.
Optimus favors the maximum Intel UHD 630 solution housed within the processor despite its very modest benefits because it is energy efficient and therefore promotes autonomy. The GeForce RTX 2080 is therefore activated by Optimus to make graphical processing too heavy for the Intel UHD 630. These two solutions obviously allow to look at photos and videos.
In games, responsiveness is important. Hewlett-Packard has taken this into account by offering this notebook SSD storage ensuring a significantly smoother and more responsive operation than with a hard disk. Starts / stops and games / software launches are thus much faster and we arrive for example faster on the cards of online games.
As a reminder, an SSD is indeed much faster than a hard drive while being more energy efficient, more robust and quiet.
Here, we have more precisely a 512 GB SSD coupled to an Intel Optane module of 32 GB. In other words, an Intel Optane Memory H10 module (see our H10 test ) where the 512 GB of the SSD part are used for storage. while the 32GB of the Optane part are only dedicated to the acceleration of files and software.
Admittedly, we may regret that the total capacity proposed is not higher, but we can always use an external storage unit as a USB 3.0 device for fast transfers.

The contribution of the Hexa Core is however variable in games compared to a Quad Core.
