HP is launching 2 new 14-inch Ultrabooks with up to 2.8K OLED DCI-P displays, the HP Pavilion Plus 14 2024 running Meteor Lake Core Ultra-H with Intel Arc or AMD Ryzen 8040HS Hawk Point. These laptops include PCIe 4.0 SSD storage, Wi-Fi 6E and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, and an infrared webcam for biometric facial authentication, all in a colorful, thin and light design.
The HP Pavilion Plus 14 2024 Intel is a new thin and light compact Ultrabook that comes in Natural Silver, Moonlight Blue or Tranquil Pink.
It measures 314 x 227.1 x 17.5-18.8 mm, weighs 1.45 Kg and runs on Windows 11 (Pro) with a 4-cell 68Whr Li-Polymer battery – combined with a 100W USB-C adapter – rechargeable by 50% in 30 minutes.
This laptop is based on an Intel Meteor Lake hybrid Core Ultra 5 125H or Core Ultra 7 155H processor housing an Intel Arc graphics solution that is more powerful than the classic Iris Xe.
The Meteor Lake-H is paired with 8/16/32GB of soldered RAM as well as 512GB or 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD storage.
The HP Pavilion Plus 14 2024 Intel is also equipped with Wi-Fi 6E ax (2×2, Intel AX211), Bluetooth 5.3, HDMI 2.1, headphone/mic combo audio, 1 USB 3.2 (Gen2), 1 USB 3.2 (Gen1), 1 USB 3.2 Type-C (Gen2) and 1 USB-C Thunderbolt 4.
Its display is entrusted to a 14-inch 16/10th micro-edge display with low blue light emission, with IPS 2.5K (2560×1600) 120Hz 300cd/m² anti-glare and OLED 2.8K (2880×1800) 120Hz 100% DCI-P3 BrightView HDR 500cd/m² glossy options.
Above it is a 5.0 megapixel infrared webcam with microphone allowing facial recognition and therefore biometric authentication through Windows Hello technology.
There is also a backlit chiclet keyboard as well as 2 DTS:X Ultra Audio Boost speakers.
The HP Pavilion Plus 14 2024 Intel is priced as low as US$949 for quick availability.
The HP Pavilion Plus 14 2024 AMD version is expected to start at $849 for immediate availability across the Atlantic.
This laptop obviously stands out for its AMD platform around a Hawk Point processor with Zen 4 architecture: Hexa Core Ryzen 5 8645HS with Radeon 760M or Octo Core Ryzen 7 8845HS with Radeon 780M.
A little heavier at 1.52 Kg on the scales, it stands out for its connectivity, with Wi-Fi 6E ax (2×2, MediaTek MT7922) or Wi-Fi 6 ax (2×2, Realtek RTL8852BE) modules and its 2 USB 3.2 Type-C modules – and therefore the absence of Thunderbolt.
