Presented at MWC 2022, the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 3 and Lenovo ThinkPad P16s Gen 1 are new 14- or 16-inch 4K DCI-P3 touchscreen business laptops equipped with an Intel Alder Lake-P processor, SSD storage, a professional NVIDIA graphics card or 4G, Wi-Fi ax and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, all on Windows 11 or Linux.
Announced at MWC 2022, the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 3 is a new Ultrabook with a Black black or Storm Grey design that weighs 1.39 Kg and measures 317.7 x 226.9 x 17.9 mm.
It runs on Windows 11 (Pro) or an Ubuntu or Red Hat Enterprise Linux distribution, and this with a 39.3Whr or 52.5Whr battery.
This business-oriented laptop is based on an Intel Alder Lake processor and more specifically Intel Alder Lake-P up to the Core i7 (14 cores), with integrated Iris Xe graphics solution.
The Alder Lake-P is paired with 3200MHz DDR4 RAM up to 48GB (1 soldered part 1 slot) as well as M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD storage with a maximum capacity of 2TB.
Optionally there is a dedicated graphics card NVIDIA T550 4 GB GDDR6, professional graphics card.
The new Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 3 also includes Wi-Fi 6E ax (2×2, Intel AX211), Bluetooth 5.2, HDMI 2.0, headphone/microphone combo audio, Gigabit Ethernet, 2 USB 3.1 (Gen1, 1 Always On), 2 USB-C Thunderbolt 4 and a Smart Card reader.
Optionally, a 4G/LTE module (Fibocom L860-R) via eSIM is provided.
The display is entrusted to a 14-inch screen 16/10th either IPS Full HD (1920×1200) 45% NTSC 300cd / m² with touch option, or IPS Full HD 100% sRGB 400cd / m² low consumption, or IPS Full HD 100% sRGB 500cd / m² touch, or IPS 2.2K (2240×1400) 100% sRGB 300cd / m² with low blue light emission, or IPS 4K (3840×2400) 500cd/m² 100% DCI-P3 HDR400 X-Rite touch Dolby Vision.
Above is a 1080p HD webcam with microphone and Privacy Shutter, a 1080p infrared webcam allowing biometric authentication by facial recognition via Windows Hello technology is also optional.
Windows Hello technology is also leveraged by the built-in fingerprint reader.
Also on the program are the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 3, robust with its compliance with the American military resistance standard MIL-STD-810H, 2 Dolby Audio speakers and a chiclet keyboard with backlight option but also a dual pointing solution combining the classic touchpad with the rarest and most accurate TrackPoint.
Its big brother the Lenovo ThinkPad P16s Gen 1 stands out for its larger format that weighs 1.73 Kg and measures 361.9 x 255.5 x 20.5 mm, which allows it to accommodate a numeric keypad on the right.
In addition it is provided with a 52.5Whr or 86Whr battery.
In addition, the Lenovo ThinkPad P16s Gen 1 is planned with a 16-inch 16/10th screen either IPS Full HD (1920×1200) 45% NTSC 300cd/m² with touch option, either IPS Full HD 100% sRGB 400cd/m² low consumption, or IPS Full HD 100% sRGB 500cd/m² touch, or IPS 2.5K (2560×1600) 100% sRGB 400cd/m² X-Rite Dolby Vision with low blue light emission.
Expected in April 2022, the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 3 will be offered at a base price of 1529 euros against a starting price of 1549 euros for the Lenovo ThinkPad P16s Gen 1.
