Chassis, connectors, screen of the Dell Inspiron 15 5593
With its light silver chassis, this Ultrabook sports a sober and elegant design.
In terms of connectivity, this computer is well provided except that we regret that its Ethernet port adopts the Fast (10/100) standard and not Gigabit, standard for years.
There are 1 USB 3.1 Type-C, Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 4.1 wireless modules for remote connections and communications, a practical HDMI video output to easily connect this PC to a TV or a monitor for example, a port audio but also 3 USB all compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 ensuring transfers taking place up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 devices are connected to it.
A priori, no backlight system for the chiclet keyboard keys, which however has a numeric keypad. It is certainly a standard in 15 inches but it is not rare that it is absent on Dell PCs adopting this format.
With its 16: 9 format and precise Full HD definition, the screen is well suited for displaying videos and especially High Definition content. Its anti-reflective treatment also makes it more readable in a light environment (eg outside) than a glossy panel.
Performance, autonomy of the Dell Inspiron 15 5593
This Dell Inspiron 15 5593 is a reactive 15 inch High Definition laptop designed for general purpose use.
It benefits from a good amount of RAM of 16 GB above the average, very appreciable in multitasking and which allows you to see well coming in the matter. It is seconded by a low-consumption Quad Core i7-1065G7 Ice Lake processor that we tested . We therefore obtain good general performance capable of satisfying many users.
However, it should be kept in mind that to regularly perform demanding work in processor resources, it is better to opt for a PC based on a non-low power processor.
In any case, the Core i7-1065G7 has the advantage of integrating within it the graphics solution Intel Iris Plus Graphics G7 clearly more powerful than the classic Intel UHD 620. The Iris Plus G7 is positioned in fact below of the dedicated GeForce MX250 card. Therefore, it allows of course to watch photos and videos but also to play titles not too greedy with a few concessions.
On the storage side, Dell opts for an SSD which clearly reinforces reactivity and fluidity on a daily basis compared to a hard drive. We therefore benefit from the SSD faster start / stop and launch of software for example, but also a faster arrival on the cards of online games.
It is a 512 GB SSD that we find here on board, a capacity that rivals hard drives. But compared to these, remember that an SSD is much faster but also less energy-consuming, more robust and quieter.
As for autonomy, expect about 5 hours of battery operation in light use for this thin Ultrabook with a weight close to 2Kg.
