Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP 15s-fq5003nf
With its thin and light Natural Silver design, this versatile laptop adopts a sleek and discreet look.
The connectivity built into this Ultrabook is good, including 1 USB-C, a convenient HDMI video output to easily connect this PC to a TV for example, Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless modules for remote connections and communications, an audio port as well as 2 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) guaranteeing transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 if USB 3.0 devices are plugged into it.
However, it is unfortunate at this price level not to find more recent and powerful Wi-Fi ax but also a backlight system of the keys of the chiclet keyboard.
Treated anti-reflective, the screen is more readable in bright environments (eg exterior) than a shiny slab. It also lends itself very well to the display of High Definition content such as videos because of its Full HD definition and its 16/9th format. In short, specifications that could not be more standard at this price level and that will disappoint some, especially by the absence of IPS technology.
Performance, battery life of the HP 15s-fq5003nf
The HP 15s-fq5003nf is a thin and light 15-inch High Definition laptop for versatile use on the go.
This versatile Ultrabook sees its transport facilitated by its contained weight and finesse while in terms of autonomy, it is able to hold about 7 hours on battery in light use.
This thin and light laptop is built around 16GB of RAM and a low-power Intel Alder Lake Core i7-1255U processor. This results in good overall performance that can satisfy a number of users.
This will be particularly the case for creators who occasionally carry out work using RAM and multi-core and therefore the 10 hybrid cores of the Core i7 Alder Lake-U. This is for example the case in photo editing or video encoding.
However, if CPU- and/or graphics-intensive multimedia processing must be done often on the PC, it is better to opt for a model based on a non-low-power processor and/or a suitable dedicated graphics card.
No dedicated graphics card is indeed embedded here. It is the Iris Xe graphics part integrated into the Core i7 Alder Lake-U that takes care of all the graphics, enough to watch photos and videos but also play modest titles.
On the storage side, there is an SSD that clearly reinforces responsiveness and fluidity on a daily basis compared to a simple hard disk. It must be said that an SSD is silent but also less energy-consuming than a hard drive, more resistant to shocks and much faster.
In practice thanks to the SSD, the starts/stops are much faster, especially as well as the processing and launching of software, and we reach the cards of online games faster.
It is a 512 GB SSD that is integrated here, capacity similar to what hard drives offer as standard. But of course in case you need a larger capacity, you can rely on an external storage unit such as a USB-C/USB 3.0 device to enjoy fast transfers.
