The Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 4 and Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 4 are new 14- and 15-inch Ultrabooks with an IPS sRGB display that run on Windows 11 or Linux with an Intel Alder Lake-U or Alder Lake-P processor, an NVIDIA graphics card, M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD storage or Wi-Fi ax and USB-C Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, all in a thin and light chassis for autonomy of 11 hours.
The Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 4 is a new laptop built around an Alder Lake Intel processor, either Alder Lake-U Core i3-1215U (6 cores, 1.2 GHz, 2P 4E), Core i5-1235U (10 cores, 1.3 GHz, 2P 8E) or Core i7-1255U (10 cores, 1.7 GHz, 2P 8E), either Alder Lake-P, or Core i5-1240P (12 cores, 1.7 GHz, 4P 8E) or Core i7-1260P (12 cores, 2.1 GHz, 4P 8E).
Important clarification, however: Lenovo informs us that no configuration with Intel Alder-P is planned in Europe.
The Alder Lake processor features the Iris Xe graphics solution, optionally supported by the DEDICATED NVIDIA Turing GeForce MX550 2GB GDDR6 graphics card.
At the heart of this versatile Ultrabook also take place up to 40 GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM (8 GB soldered 1 slot) as well as M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD storage in 2242 format of 256/512 GB or 1 TB.
The Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 4 also has Wi-Fi 6(E) ax (2×2, Intel AX201/AX211 or Realtek RTL8852BE), Bluetooth 5.2, HDMI (4K@60Hz), Headphone/Mic combo audio, Gigabit Ethernet (Intel Ethernet Connection I219-V), 1 USB 3.2 (Gen1, 1 Always On), 1 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 4 Type-C Thunderbolt 4.
It entrusts its display to a 14-inch Full HD (1920×1080) anti-glare screen either TN 45% NTSC 250cd/m² 500:1, or IPS 45% NTSC 300cd/m² 800:1 with multi-touch option 10 points capacitive points, or 100% sRGB 300cd/m² 1200:1.
Above the screen is a 720p or 1080p HD webcam with microphone and Privacy Shutter to preserve privacy.
Optionally there is a 1080p Infrared webcam allowing biometric authentication by facial recognition via Windows Hello technology also exploited by the fingerprint reader also optional and integrated into the power button, a TPM 2.0 security chip is also present for security.
This new laptop is also equipped with 2 speakers (2 x 2W) Dolby Audio Harman, a splash-resistant chiclet keyboard with option to backlight the keys but also 2 pointing solutions: classic touchpad and trackPoint more accurate (and rare).
Announced in Black (black) and Mineral Metallic (silver) designs, it weighs 1.59 Kg in all-aluminum version for dimensions of 324 x 220.7 x 17.9 mm, against 1.64 Kg and 324 x 220.7 x 18.9 mm for a plastic base and aluminum shell.
Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 4 offers an announced autonomy of 9h20 with its Li-Polymer 45Whr battery, and 11h30 with its 57Whr Li-Polymer battery, all 2 rechargeable by 80% in 1 hour thanks to rapid charge technology.
This laptop runs on Windows 11 (Pro) or a Linux distribution, in this case Ubuntu.
The Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 4 is distinguished by its autonomy of 8 hours with 45Whr battery and 10h50 with 57Whr battery.
Only expected in plastic base and aluminum shell, it weighs 1.7 Kg and measures 365 x 240 x 18.9 mm which allows it to accommodate on the right a numeric keypad.
On the right of the chassis, a slot is specifically designed to accommodate headphones.
In France, several editions of the Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 4 and Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 4, mainly with IPS 45% NTSC panel with backlit keyboard, infrared webcam fingerprint reader but also 57Whr battery, all under Windows 11.
