Lovers of screaming design, go your way. The Huawei MateBook D is all that is more neutral and minimalist, which will surely speak to MacBook lover. Moreover, the Chinese manufacturer has made the judicious choice to place his ultrabook in an aluminum chassis , a serious asset strength. The aesthetics and the assembly are treated with beveled angles and some well placed curves.

Side measurements, the Huawei MateBook D is well optimized with a weight set around 1.45 kg and a thickness of 15.8 mm . This 14 inches can easily find its place in your bag.

The battery is consistent (57.4 Whr) and should allow to keep a full day of work away from a power outlet, about 9 hours of battery life .

Huawei Matebook D Specs and Details

In the center of this Huawei Matebook D works a AMD Ryzen 5 2500U Quad Core of last generation, supported by 8 GB of RAM . This duo provides something to ensure a quality office operation. Tasks like video playback, surfing the web, or the Office suite are well supported, as are advanced editing missions (editing / editing, Photoshop / Premiere). In addition, the RAM is present in sufficient quantity for multitasking enthusiasts who will have all the ease necessary to multiply the tabs on the web and the active applications.

The graphic part is entrusted to the AMD Radeon Vega 8 integrated into the Raven Ridge processor, which holds the best place for the Intel UHD 620 CPU Kaby Lake Refresh. While the latter is similar to a GeForce 920MX in terms of performance, the Vega 8 will match a GeForce 940MX and allow a little game definition and average details (1366 x 768 px).

Another strong point of this Huawei Matebook D, the 256GB dedicated SSDguarantees a perfect responsiveness of the system. Overall quieter, more robust, and more energy efficient than a mechanical drive, it allows Windows to achieve a remarkable level of fluidity with short load times and latency-free operation. However, its storage capacity of 256 GB will not be able to contain all of your toy library. It will then turn to an external solution or online to keep available all your archives.

The ultrabook is also highlighted by a 14-inch Full HD IPS screen with sharp edges for a beautiful image enhancement. Fixed on 180-degree (flat) hinges, it offers a Full HD (1920 x 1080 px) definition that offers an extended display area to fully enjoy High Definition content (video, game). Opposite, the IPS panelopens the viewing angles for perfect rendering regardless of the angle in which you view the screen. We do not know the coating of the slab, shiny or anti-reflective, but be aware that the brilliant heals the design but reflects the ambient brightness, which is not the anti-glare screen, at the cost of a look judged by some a little less aesthetic.

To finish on the connectivity, the list is quite small since it is limited to a headphone jack, an HDMI output and three USB 3.1 ports, including a USB Type-C Gen1 that is used for power (USB-C Adapter 65W). Fortunately, everything remains possible thanks to the versatility of this format. Via dedicated adapters you can get RJ45, card reader as well as USB Type-A.
