The Vaio brand presents its new thin and light 12-inch Ultrabook Vaio SX12 of only 887 grams equipped with a Comet Lake Hexa Core i7 processor offering a battery life of 13 hours.
While Sony abandoned our countries a few years ago, but its famous Vaio laptop range still lives under its own brand.
Thus is revealed the new edition of its flagship Ultrabook Vaio SX12 lighter by 10 grams than the previous edition in Whiskey Lake with only 887 grams on the scale.
The new Vaio SX12 is built around a Comet Lake Intel Core 10th generation processor.
A first configuration with Hexa Core i7-10710U (1.1 GHz, Intel UHD 620) is announced with M.2 NVMe PCIe 256 GB SSD storage and a 4G option .
A second is based on a Quad Core i5-10210U (1.6 GHz, Intel UHD 620) with a 256 GB M.2 SATA SSD, without 4G option.
For the rest, the Vaio SX12 Ultrabook integrates 8 GB LPDDR3 of RAM, a 12.5 inch Full HD anti-glare screen (1920×1080) with thin edges surmounted by a 720p HD webcam with microphone and 2 speakers.
On the connection side, there are Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi ac modules (exit therefore the latest Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi ax standards), HDMI and VGA video outputs , an SD card reader, Gigabit Ethernet ports and audio combo Headphones / Micro, 2 USB 3.0, 1 USB 3.1 (Gen2) and 1 USB 3.1 Type-C (Gen2) but not Thunderbolt 3.
With a carbon fiber and plastic design , this thin and light computer also includes a biometric reader to authenticate on the system by fingerprint recognition via Windows Hello technology.
Expected in 5 colors (black, silver, brown, pink and red), the new Vaio SX12 Ultrabook measures 287.8 x 203.3 x 15.7- 18mm and offers an announced autonomy of 13 hours in Windows 10. It tilts slightly forward when opened to improve its cooling.
On the tariff side, there is talk of a base price of around 1650 euros, a price that can climb to around 2025 euros for the most high-end version.
However, a priori, the Vaio SX12 will not be sold in France.
The brand announces at the same time a 14 inch Vaio SX14 inch edition still under Comet Lake (999 grams, 320.4 x 222.7 x 15-17.9mm).
